Grade One Contest at Queen Mary

This year's pipe band contest at the Queen Mary, in Long Beach, California, will reach a new milestone this year. For the first time, there will be a full Grade One band contest. Oran Mor Pipe Band, of Albany, NY, will be competing against the LA Scots Pipe Band. Since moving to Grade One after winning the World Pipe Band Championships in Grade Two in 1997, the LA Scots have been able to compete within California less than 20 times, so adding a Grade One band contest at the Queen Mary is a very welcome addition!
